
Our Christmas music workshops with The Tinderbox Orchestra will take place across Sunday 30th November with two FREE music activities for all ages.
Spaces for all sessions are limited, with bookings only available via the St James Quarter app.

Session One: 10.30am – 11.30am
Session Two: 12.30pm- 1.30pm
Come and join Tinderbox Orchestra – a vibrant 20-piece band of rappers, singers, orchestral instruments, and a fully amplified backline – for a fun, festive music workshop open to everyone!
You’ll get the chance to try a variety of instruments and make music together as a big, festive band. If you already play an instrument, please feel free to bring it along and join the fun!
Tinderbox Orchestra is part of the wider Tinderbox Collective – a network of musicians, artists, youth workers, and young people based in Scotland. The Collective engages with thousands of young people each year through a range of music projects, game-design workshops, and creative productions. Tinderbox are the Edinburgh music partners for the ‘We Make Music’ Instrument Libraries Campaign- an initiative to get musical instruments into public libraries so people can borrow them for free, just like borrowing a book!
Improvise and write a Christmas Song with The Tinderbox Orchestra
Session One: 2pm-3pm
Session Two: 3.30pm – 4.30pm
Session Three: 5pm – 6pm
Come along and join the Tinderbox Orchestra for a fun, festive workshop where you’ll learn how to improvise and work together to create your very own Christmas song!
Together, we’ll improvise music, write lyrics and rap, bringing ideas to life with the energy of a 20-piece orchestra.
No experience is needed, just bring your instrument if you have one!
